Details
1/400 Boeing Factory 747-8I The Boeing 747 is an iconic passenger aircraft, and the manufacturer is now working on the fourth generation of this enduring design. Known as the 747-8 and announced in 2005, it will be the longest passenger airliner in the world at 76.25m. The fuselage has been lengthened by some 5.6m and the wings redesigned to be thicker and deeper to improve efficiency. The 747-8 will use General Electric GEnx turbofan engines, and its maximum takeoff weight is 442 tonnes. Dragon Wings is proud to announce a 1/400 scale replica of this brand new Boeing 747-8. A model of the freighter variant was issued last year (Item No.56220), and now comes the passenger version. Assembly of the very first Boeing 747-8I (“I” denotes Intercontinental) was completed in February 2011, and it had its official rollout ceremony on February 13, 2011 at Everett in Washington State. The first deliveries should take place later this year, but in the meantime this Dragon Wings replica wears the livery of the rollout aircraft. The revised shape is accurately replicated and the markings are precisely rendered. Dragon Wings brings this new model of a new aircraft!

Dragon Wings Boeing House colors (red) B747-8jk Intercontinental (cn 38636/1434) GEnx
This is the largest B747 in the series to date, more than 30 feet longer than the previous versions. The upper level deck has first class seating for double to triple the previous versions. The model has huge GE engines with the GE logo on the side of the engine. The two tone beauty places red on a white background except the tail, it is finished off in pumpkin orange. The one time use of red on a Boeing house color aircraft was for their first client for the plane, China Air. The mould and the real plane match nicely. The shape of the nose is correct as are the placement of the cockpit windows. Landing gear and tires match well with the real plane. You can see landing lights on this model and some of the warning lights. Passenger windows and doors are sharp. You can see the door handles. Under the windshield of the cockpit are windshield wipers, further adding details to the model. This is a well photographed aircraft with five pages of images on Airliners.net.
