British Airways or BA is the largest United Kingdom based airline in terms of fleet size, international flights and international destinations. This makes BA the flag carrier airline of the UK. Founded in 1972 with the merging of British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and British European Airways Corporation (BAE), British Airways quickly became the national airline for the UK. Today BA operates into nearly 150 destinations and is one of only six carries to fly to all six permanently inhabited continents.

The British Airways fleet consists of mainly Airbus and Boeing planes, primarily A319's, A320's, B737's, B747's, B767's, and B777's with orders in for A380's and B787's. BA is also only one of two airlines to operate the Concorde, the first supersonic airliner.
