Aer Lingus had several of these F-27s making up the backbone of their commuter operations. This Herpa version of this aircraft has an interesting model history. The same registration number was made by Model Power from a mould they had gotten from Delprado Japan. The two previous versions were a slightly different livery. The green color almost had a little gray filtered into it and the shamrock on the tail on the previous versions prior to this Herpa version was green or yellow rather than white. There really isn't much detail on the previous versions. I got Model Power one in in 2006 or 07. This latest release is so much more detailed with antennas, landing lights, warning lights and rolling tires on the gear. What a neat way to see Ireland with the wings coming out of the top of the fuselage and no obstructions to view the landscape out the windows. The six pointed propeller props spin nicely. As an Aer Lingus fan (my wife is Irish so it gave me an excuse to collect this airline) I am happy to add this model to my collection of 200 and 400 scale Aer Lingus models. This plane also flew for several other airlines. (Posted on 11/8/2010)
