Western Models200 Fairchild F-27 Friendship Reg# N746L (brown and blue)
Western Models 200 /Aeroclassics200 published three F-27 models in the Air West Livery. N746L, blue and brown blue tail, N2777R green and blue tail and N759L yellow and red tail.

The aircraft came out in Bonanza Airways colors Feb., 1959 eventually merging with Air West April, 1968 and transferred to Hughes Air West April, 1970 and other airlines after 1980 in their careers.

I have only one problem with this mould and that is the large seam were the wings meet the fuselage. From various photo images it is hard to tell if the gap is as pronounced on the model vs the real aircraft.

The rest of the mould and model is excellent. The nose has the proper shape. Black paint covers the nose itself and the area in front of the wind shield. Cock pit windows are correctly shaped and dark gray represents the windows.

There are no anttenas visible on the model although at least two adorn the type of the real aircraft. The type face used for the tail number and the airline name are correct and properly spaced.

The tail and other leading surfaces on the aircraft are represented in black as on the real aircraft. Landing gear is properly scale and rubber tires spin. The engines are okay but could have had additional details and indention's to capture what you can see in the photo images.

Tail shape is correct and proportional.

While the models are not perfect they are pretty close and 4 stars is a reasonable rating.
