Inflight200 Alaska Airlines Boeing 727-90C Russian Onion Dome N766AS
There was a period in which Alaska Airlines went to great efforts in relating the history of Alaska and its people on the tails of their aircraft This is a beautiful example of the Russian Onion Dome example of this aircraft. This model is one of the two Inflight has made in this regard. Hopefully they will follow up with the three others we have in the 400 scale from Aeroclassics and Gemini Jets.

The aircraft first flew on Feb., 17, 1968. It was written off 6/9/87. It burned on ground after taxi accident at Anchorage International Airport

The model when compared to Airliners.net is wonderfully reproduced. The color is spot on . The onions are in a purple on the white fuselage.

Among many other details are antennas on the top and bottom of the fuselage. In the days when this aircraft flew folks still loaded through the rear door and that door is visible on the tail section of the underside of the aircraft.

The model has rolling properly scaled tires and landing gear. The windows, doors and cargo bay doors are clearly depicted on the model. On the top of the fuselage there is a red warning light.

The cockpit and nose are properly proportion and shaped correctly.

This aircraft also flew in the Golden Nugget livery and the regular Alaska Eskimo livery.
