Aeroclassic Alaska Airlines Douglas DC-6C N11817 (USAF C-118A 53-3282) (cn 44653/613)
The model is a combo pax and cargo. This DC-6 started with the USAF 53-3282. It crashed at Elmendorf AFB Feb. 22, 1960, landing short of the runway and was written off. The aircraft was built in 1955 and delivered in 1958. Scaled landing gear is another feature of the model. Passenger windows and doors are clearly marked on the fuselage. This model is in the Fly Alaska Airlines livery. The fleet number is printed on the nose gear cover. Here is the only picture on A-net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Alaska-Airlines/Douglas-C-118A-Liftmaster/0121836/L/&sid=c9f0eedcc9e2da67ac9aa231841ed1de The model's nose is properly shaped and so are the cockpit windows. Hobby Master is slated to issue a 200 scale version of this registration. Hope they look at how well AC got the nose gear cover to fit to the fuselage as that is a weakness in the Hobby Master DC-6s already issued. We can't not have TOO MANY props in the Alaska liveries!!!
