Aeroclassic 400 Braniff "Flying Colors" DC-8-51 2-tone Orange & Ochre N814BN (cn 45644/174)
This air frame was built in 1962 and delivered to National Airlines N779C and delivered to them Nov. 20, 1962 and named "Marilyn" and then on to Braniff International and put in the flying colors Orange/Ochre livery. September, 1982 the aircraft was bought by Sonico Inc. and broken up later that year. The DC-8-51 mould is very nice. My only beef is the seam where it meets the fuselage is a little bit of a gap but with all the other nice features of this mould the model is just fine and a nice contribution to our 400 scale BN's in flying colors. The color match is spot on with the images at A-net: http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?cx=partner-pub-8297169501225184%3Aa05n2n-tzky&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=N814BN&sa=Submit&search_active=1&search=&sheadline=&search_field=datedesc&submit=&siteurl=www.airliners.net%252Fsearch%252Fphoto.search%253Fcnsearch%253D45642%252F172%2526distinct_entry%253Dtrue Review by James F (Posted on 8/15/2011)
