N1804 was built in 1967 and was delivered to Braniff Sept. 20, 1967 and was sold Nov. 1983 and converted to cargo by Arrow . It was damaged in Yokota, Japan Dec. 24, 2002. After being sold by BI in 1983 it was owned and operated by several cargo carriers. It was broken up April, 2003.

The model is in the blue livery with a baby blue under carriage. Here is a picture of the actual aircraft http://www.airliners.net/photo/Braniff-International-Airways/McDonnell-Douglas-DC-8-62/0874062/L/&sid=df3f303ceefa6e235e647074c3697c98

The model is a reasonable replica but the seam were the wings meet the fuselage is large. The forward antenna also seems a little big. and in the pictures it is blue, not white as it is on the model.

The nose seems correct and the windows for the cockpit are correct with wind shield wipers visible. The passenger doors and windows are correct and look sharp against the darker blue backdrop. The colors on the model match well with the images.

The landing gear are properly scaled. The nose gear covers have the fleet number on them. Landing lights and warning lights are part of the model and add further detail. I think the warning light on top of the model is a little large but it doesn't distract from the model.
