Inflight200 Continental B727-024C Golden Jet Colors Polished Belly N2472
Months ago Inflight asked collectors to send them a list of models they would like to see. I sent more than 25 models to be requested, never dreaming they would do ALL of them. Wish they would have spread them out over a year or so rather than a big onslaught in one month. This was one of the models I requested and they did. This was the only Continental Airlines B727-100 to be done in Golden Jet colors. They also did a B707 for us that love these particularly colors. Here is a picture of the 1:1 aircraft. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chicagokoz/3745396241/ It is a cargo aircraft combo. The model is spot on for the colors. The model has well marked cargo bay doors plus the large cargo door. The replica features several antenna's properly scaled, warning lights and landing light depictions. Rolling tires and properly scaled landing gear are another detail featured in this model. Engines are properly shaped as is the nose. Interestingly enough the nose of the model is black but you can not see the black in the photo image. Not sure if this was a mistake or just that the image was hard to see the nose. Delivered to CO on July 27, 1967 it was returned to Boeing on Aug. 7, 1968. In 1971 it went to Avianca as HK-1272 and crashed in 1975 on approach to Barranquilla with the loss of all 4 crew aboard. This aircraft is also done in 400 scale by Aeroclassic. Review by James F (Posted on 11/16/2011)
