Every time I look at a stretched version of a DC-8 I just wonder how they got off the ground. Other serials number for this air frame include N702FT, N803UP and N402FE with FedEx as a freighter. It also flew for Transamerica Airlines. There is only one picture of this airplane on Airliners.net but it allows for a good comparison. The model nose may be just a little short compared to the real aircraft. Others GJ has done a good job on the cockpit shape and its windows. This aircraft was built with passenger windows but they are filled in on the model. The doors are marked on this polished metal finish and stand out clearly as do the cargo bay doors. There is superb detail on the engines. Scaled landing gear and rolling tires further enhance the model. The nose gear door covers also have the fin number printed on them. (Posted on 4/6/2011)
