Highly detailed Hobby Master Fokker F-27 Troopship C-10,Royal Netherlands Air Force 334 Squadron, RNLAF Item: HL1109 Die-cast model in 1:200 scale. 1/200 scale die-cast metal with minimal use of plastic. All markings are tampo (pad) applied, no decals to discolor or flake. Rolling rubber wheels on most models. Landing gear can be removed or added. Model comes with a display stand. A brief history of the aircraft type and the airline is supplied with each model. Replaced the DC-3. In 1956 Fokker licensed U.S. manufacturer Fairchild to produce the F.27. In April 1958 the Fairchild F.27 flew and in November 1958 the first Fokker produced F.27- 100 was delivered to Aer Lingus. In November 1967 the F.27-500 (FH.227 in the U.S.) first flew. The 500 was a stretched version and the most numerous with 123 being produced. When production ended in 1987 there were 586 Fokker and 207 Fairchild aircraft built. The Royal Netherland Air Force 334 Squadron, based at Eindhoven received the first of their Fokker F.27-100s in 1960. There would be 3 F.27-100 numbered C-1 thru C-3 and 9 F.27M-300 Troopships numbered C-4 thru C-12. In 1994 334 Squadron started to receive C-130 Hercules aircraft to replace the F.27s and by 1996 the replacement was complete. Aircraft C-10 c/n 10160 was delivered to the RNLAF in 1961 and withdrawn from service in 1993 and is now displayed at the Militair Luchtvaart Museum located at Soesterberg Air Base.
