Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien "Tony" HQ Chutai, 244th Sentai, Chofu, Tokyo, Winter 1944-1945
Scale 1:72
Die Cast Model
The KAIc variant of the Japanese Ki-61-I, which first appeared in 1944, primarily flew against Allied bombers in the defense of Japan. The 15th release in the Oxford Diecast series of 1/72 scale, die cast warplanes, this model replicates one such Ki-61 "Tony" flown by the 244th Sentai's HQ flight out of Chofu Air Base near Tokyo in 1944-45. It features textured surfaces, a detailed cockpit with a glazed birdcage canopy, wing-mounted fuel tanks, a mottled camouflage scheme with authentic markings, and more. 6½" wingspan; includes a display stand that identifies the plane and pilot.
