This is a beautiful B747-400 and colors are will be missed after the airline merged with Delta Dec. 31, 2009. The aircraft first flew March 17, 1999 and was delivered to Northwest March 29, 1999 and registered April 13, 1999. Starting out in the Battleship Gray and Red colors the aircraft was in the silver colors before the merger. This model is in the gray and red colors and in broad letters on the fuselage named City of Detroit. The mould features wonderful details and no complaints. From the landing gear being properly scaled and rolling tires to the clearly printed passenger windows and passenger doors to the well shaped cockpit and the 747 "hump". Landing and warning lights add more details to the model. The cargo doors are beautifully marked. There is an inscription in Chinese over the forward cargo door, :friends of China." This feature makes this model rather unique since none of the previous NWA models in these colors has such a feature.
