Aeroclassics Northwest Douglas DC-4 Reg# N88706 (cn 10297) Ship 430
Aeroclassics issued three Northwest Airlines DC-4s all in one month. This was a wonderful addition to the old Northwest aircraft. All three have slight variations on their livery. N88706 which was built for USAF as a Douglas C-54A-5-DC and later used by the US Nave as a Douglas R5D-1

Records are sketchy on this aircraft. It first flew civilian in Eastern Airlines colors and then in the Northwest colors. The dates are not available. Later it was operated by Zantop Air Transport. It burned in 1974 and was written off.

This model as the famous Northwest arrow point northwest on the back of the fuselage. It has a red tail with the tail number on it vertically and the word Northwest at the base of the tail.

Aeroclassics DC-4s are quite light but offer great details. Part of the model is plastic. This one has marking for warning lights on the top of the fuselage. It does not have the American flag on the tail and the registration number is printed at the vertically on the tail above the fuselage.

This livery with the white top and the blues and reds and red tail went on into the jet age. The white tops are most beautiful.

The landing gear is scaled features rolling rubber tires. The nose cover has the fleet number on it.

I am glad to add this model with its two sisters to my prop collection of Northwest aircraft.
