This replica is a Convair with a long history. Created in 1953, it came to North Central in 1969. North Central merged into Republic in 1979 and then to Northwest in 1986. In 1994 it was bought by Los Pequenos Airlines and was given to Air Venezuela in 1999 and was withdrawn from use in 2000. GJ has done well in the nose shape and reproduction. The color on the model is good and matches the three examples of this CV-580 on Airliners.net. Cockpit shape is captured. The printing of the windows is properly positioned. The passenger doors are depicted with the door handle visible on the rear door. The front door on the aircraft was wider and featured a set of stairs so they could do quick change and the plane flew a commuter root. Warning lights and on the wing tips add further detail to the model. This is a great addition to my collection. (Posted on 4/10/2012)
