Gemini Jets 200 American Eagle CV-580 N73117 (cn 25)
Built in 1952, N73117 flew for United through March, 1966. You can just imagine this aircraft buzzing around various hubs feeding passengers in from secondary airports. Those big diameter props of the 580 sure did make a loud noise. This model looks very good when compared to the only picture of this registration in the AA on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/American-Eagle-(Metroflight)/Convair-580/1001477/L/&sid=d93e74cbc20a9005c904945e51b6b09a The shape of the nose, cockpit and the cockpit windows looks good. There are a couple of radio antenna on the top of the fuselage behind the cockpit that make for nice details. They are properly positioned and scaled. All markings are on the AA white backdrop so they look sharp. The passenger windows and doors are printed clearly, including the door handle on the rear entry door of the aircraft. The landing gear is shaped and scaled correctly though they could have added the "spokes" on the wheels as pictured in the image of this aircraft. The wing and the fusealge are almost seamless. Very nice all around and this model is a nice contribution to the AA aviation history in 200 scale. Review by James F (Posted on 11/17/2012)
