N57201 first flew April 19, 1962 for Boeing and was delivered to Continental Airlines April 30, 1962 with the black meatball colors. It was leased by Alaska Feb., 1972. It was returned 3/72 to Continental and sold March, 1976 to Allen Aircraft Co., broken up at Miami International July, 1976. KMIA
This model represents the completion of the jet Golden Nugget jet aircraft. I think there was also a DC-6 in these colors.
I used the Continental Airlines image on Airliners.net for my comparisons with the model and the actual aircraft. I could not find any photos of the aircraft in the Alaska colors.
The replica is perfectly shaped for nose to tail. The model has an antenna on the top of the fuselage and it is scaled correctly. You can see a tiny red warning light. The tail antenna is of the correct length and diameter.
The nose, cockpit and cockpit windows are perfectly shaped. Windows on this model are dark gray and printed within the Continental cheat line. The font and size of Alaska is correct. Landing lights are another nice detail on the wings. The engine pylons are seamless with the wing. The tail also merges perfectly with the fuselage. Cargo bay doors stand out clearly on the white back drop of the fuselage. (Posted on 11/1/2015)
