Inflight 200 Western Airlines B727-247 advanced N2804W Polished
Like the sister release with the white back drop and the flying W I am not sure Inflight has hit the red color correctly. There is a purple hue. You will have to decide. For me I didn't think we would get another chance at a Western in the metal finished. The model version is polished and shines like crazy but be careful to use gloves to handle it as it is easy to get finger prints on it. This aircraft flew in a variety of Western and later Delta colors: http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?cx=partner-pub-8297169501225184%3Aa05n2n-tzky&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=N2804W&sa=Submit&search_active=1&search=&sheadline=&search_field=datedesc&submit=&siteurl=www.airliners.net%252F This bare metal version does not have Western written on the fuselage but it is on the tail. The model captures most details well, although I think the nose is short, the landing gear are correctly scaled and feature rolling tires, hub caps and stimulated lug nuts. The model also features antenna, warning lights and landing lights. The engines are properly shaped. The pax doors and windows are sharply printed. The cockpit windows are shaped correctly. It is interesting to note that some years back, KSO models of Salt Lake City did N2805W in an issue of 12. I have a copy. The red is a better match but on the old WM mould there are some details lacking that we have on the IF and WMs of today. I am glad IF choose a different tail number.
