Built in 1974, N54340 first flew August 29, 1974 and was delivered to TWA Sept. 10, 1974. It received its current registration March 3, 1986. After the merger with American this aircraft was removed to from service and sent to Victorville, CA where it was broken up May, 2002. This model features the final colors of TWA before folding with the world map, the block TWA letters on the tail and the mix of red, blue and white colors that make up the image of TW. The model maker did well on the shape of the nose and the cockpit windows. The passenger windows and doors are clearly marked. The doors have door handle details. There are several antennas on the model that increase he detail, along with landing lights, warning lights and detailed depiction of the cargo bay doors. The wheels, tires and landing gear are scaled and the nose wheel cover has the fleet number on it. (Posted on 8/1/2011)
