  1. Hobby Master 200 United Airlines "Main Liner Lake Ontario" DC-4Review by Weather man

When it comes to prop jobs I love them I have an entire herd of Untied in their 40s 50s and 60s colors of props and the transition into jets. This is a gem in my collection. I found some specific information about NC30049: http://www.edcoatescollection.com/ac3/Airline/United%20Air%20Lines%20Douglas%20DC-4.html There is a black and white picture of the aircraft but there was nothing on A-net. Now from this picture when you compare the HM model with the actual aircraft it hard to find any faults. The nose gear is slanted as seen in other images of other DC-4s of the era. This Mainliner was fitted out for both cargo and passenger service as noted by the door. Land gear and landing gear detail are superb on this model. You can see the bolts for the hubcaps on the tires. The engine shape is correct and there is an antenna above the cockpit which further details the model. We certainly are lucky to have this new UAL prop job in the collection. (Posted on 8/8/2011)
