It was for a while Donald Trump's plane.
The first flight of the air frame was April 21, 1976. It was delivered to Braniff April 27, 1976 in the green/light green livery and operated with Braniff til they ceased flying May 13, 1982.
September, 1983, PeoplesExpress put their colors on the aircraft till PE merged with Continental Airlines Feb., 1987. The aircraft also was part of Pan Am and later Delta before US. Airways took it over August 31, 1995. On Nov. 29, 2001 it was sold to International Trading Company of the Yukon were it was used for spare parts.
I am glad the model makers are paying attention to the US Airways dark blue livery. While we have had quite of few in plastic, there is nothing like metal models.
The cockpit shape and windows are correct on this mould but the nose seems to be a little blunted compared to various images on Airliners.net. The model features warning lights on the wings and fuselage, multiple antennas and a good sharp printing of the windows and markings on the passenger doors.
Rolling wheels on the model add nice details. The wings have the escape arrows on them. Clearly depicted landing lights are another nice detail about this model. (Posted on 6/19/2013) - PERFECT
