Gemini Jets 200 USAir Douglas DC-9-30 N932VJ (cn 47189/303)
This DC-9 has a long history and has gone through many colors over the years. It was built in 1968 and broken up in 2005. It first flew Apr., 3, 1968 and was registered with Eastern Airlines N8955E. It was delivered to Eastern May 4, 1968 and went over to Allegheny Airlines Aug. 1978 and merged in with USAIr Oct. 10, 1979. It eventfully was stored at Mojave in 2003. The model is in the USAir colors of 2000. They are very attractive colors with the mix of blue, white and red on a polished metal background of the model. Nose, cockpit and cockpit winds are near perfect on the GJ mould. The model has warning lights on the top of the fuselage and wings. On the wings emergency egress are printed. The engine shape is correct. Passenger windows and doors are marked crisply . Cargo bay doors show well on the polished metal background. Rolling tires on scaled landing gear are another asset of detail on the model. The fleet number is printed on the nose gear covers. This model is another addition to the 200 scale USAir family.
