Named after President Harry Truman's hometown, Independence, Missouri, the VC-118 "The Independence" - a modified DC-6 - served as Truman's presidential airplane.

I love to collect the Air Force Ones in 200 scale and this is a wonderful addition and a beautiful model. This was the first effort to create an Air Force One that had unique presidencal colors and a name given to the aircraft by Harry Truman, "Indepence" which was Truman's home town. This model is filled with the details you like to see. Besides its unique colors, the landing gear, as an example are scaled, roll and have hub caps that you can see the lug nuts. The cockpit of the model is spot on with the images of the plane. There is an antenna aft of the cockpit. The passenger doors and windows are sharply printed and the props have red, white and blue tips. Engines are well shaped. (Posted on 8/7/2011)
