In July 1978 the European manufacturer Airbus began work on their second aircraft, the
A310. It would be a medium-to long-range wide-body airliner based on the Airbus larger
first aircraft the A300. The first flight of the A310 took place on April 3, 1982 with the first
service flight in April 1983 with Lufthansa. In 1985 the A310-300 production began as a
longer range version of the A310-200 and is capable of carrying an additional 15,430
pounds of fuel in its tail-plane. The last A310 was delivered in June 1998.
Canada 3000 Inc. was based in Canada and founded on May 1, 1989. Airbus A310-304
c/n 435 first went to the CAAC – Civil Aviation Administration of China as B-2304 in July
1987 then to China Eastern Airlines in May 1988. In December 1994 it was sold to Air
Afrique as TU-TAR then to Royal Airlines in 1997 as C-GRYD who merged with Canada
3000. In November 2001 Canada 3000 closed due to the effects of 911. In February 2003
WFBN Wells Fargo Bank Northwest took possession and registered it as N435-XS later
scrapping it.
