SMA 200 Olympic Airlines Boeing B720-51B SX-DBI (cn 18355/231) Named Pinios River
This is the first over from the new SMA model company. It is a good selection to make a replica and one of seven Olympic B720s that were operated by that airline.

What is more ironic is that for more than a dozen years many of us have been waiting for some one to put out at 720 mould and now we not only have one company but two others besides SMA: Inflight and Western (new) models. From the discussion groups SMA and Western are sharing their mould.

One thing that bums me out with all of the 720 business is that Inflight is doing the same registration number Olympic Airlines 720.

In our SMA example with the Olympic colors we have a great starter 720. I have not seen the IF 720 yet. The United one should be out shortly.

The overall shape of this mould is spot on with the actual aircraft. The colors on the model are a perfect match to the photos.

On the tail the Olympic log stands out on its dark blue back drop. The white fuselage is a perfect easel for placing the passenger windows and cheat line on the model. They are printed clearly on the model.

There are only four pictures of this aircraft on Airliners.net. One of them deviates from the other three as to the over the wing escape doors. Our example has two but one of the images shows only one exit window/door.

The cockpit shape is perfect, the cockpit winds line up correctly and the nose and radar doom are captured flawlessly.

Warning lights are marked on the fuselage and the wing tips. The landing lights on the wings are also clearly depicted. Engines are shaped correctly. The cargo bay doors are also clearly marked on the model.

This is an exciting new addition to the 200 scale collection both in livery and type of aircraft.
