Highly detailed AeroClassic diecast model airplane Northwest Airlines Airbus Industries A330-300 Item#: ACN808NW Scale: 1:400 Northwest Airlines Corp. (often abbreviated NWA) was a major United States airline founded in 1926 and absorbed into Delta Air Lines Inc. by a merger. Approved on October 29, 2008, the merger made Delta the largest airline in the world until the American Airlines-US Airways Merger on December 9, 2013. Northwest continued to operate under its own name and brand until the integration of the carriers was completed on January 31, 2010. Northwest was headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota near Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. After World War II it became dominant in the trans-Pacific market with a hub in Tokyo, Japan (initially Haneda Airport, later Narita International Airport). After acquiring Republic Airlines in 1986, Northwest also established major hubs at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Memphis International Airport. In 1993 it began a strategic alliance with KLM and a jointly-coordinated European hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The Detroit and Minneapolis operations were retained as Delta hubs. However, the Memphis operation has been reduced from more than 300 to fewer than 21 flights a day.

Aeroclassics 400 Northwest Airlines Airbus Industries A330-323 N808NW
This aircraft flew first under Airbus registration F-WWKO March 25, 2004 and was delivered to Northwest April 30, 2004 in the final NW colors. When Delta merged NW into their fleet the reg number N808NW remained the same but the aircraft was painted in the current Delta colors. The aircraft and model carried the KLM logo on the starboard side of the aircraft

The Aeroclassics big bus mould is spot on for cockpit shape, nose shape, cockpit windows. The wind shield wipers are printed below the glass and add another nice detail.

The landing gear is scaled and have rolling tires., The nose gear cover has the fleet number on it. On the wings the landing lights are clearly depicted. The wing shape is perfect and the winglets are correctly scaled.

The engines are shaped correctly and the pylons meet with the wing without serious gaps. This is also true the wings where they meet the fuselage.

The passenger windows, passenger doors and cargo bay door are clearly marked. The final colors of Northwest are of silver gray nature and great to place other details on like the windows and doors.

This model's registration number appears almost smudged. It is not clearly printed at all.

As a big collector of NWA I am glad to see a model maker willing to still reproduce them I probably have more than 150 NWA models in my 400 scale collection and glad to add this one.
