Inflight 200 United “Friend Ship” Star and Bars B747-122 Polished N4735U (cn 19928/208)
N3725UA first flew May 16, 1973, was delivered to UAL May 30, 1973 and was delivered in the Stars and Bars Friendship livery. It flew with UAL through the late 90s and was then broken up.

What a beautiful model this is. I have a number of UAL Stars and Bars colors.

The model is painted white which allows for the UAL colors to really stand out.

Behind the hump there are warning lights and an antenna. Warning lights are painted at the end of the wings. The cargo bay doors and passenger doors are clearly printed. The cheatlines of blue and red are correct for color. Underneath the red cheatline the polish metal further adds to the model's beauty.

All and all this model is a great piece of UAL history.

Classic Icon arrives
Were you to have visited JFK, ORD, LAX, SFO or MIA in the early 1970's, at some point you would have seen this literal flagship descend, touchdown, and glide toward the terminal. It would have stood out, not only for its sheer size, but for the brilliant and whimsical colors it added to the palette of airline liveries dispayed there. Though a somewhat busy scheme, it was the ultimate evolution of United's jet-age maketing campaign and a must for any collector of that era. Inflight has beautifully rendered the "friendship" and it will draw your eye on the shelf as surely as it did to those of us who saw it on the ramp. A major piece from a grand era and well worth the wait. Review by Ben (Posted on 7/6/2012)
