Built by Rockwell International, the four-engine supersonic bomber is capable of speeds of Mach 1.25. This important US Air Force (USAF) asset also features variable-sweep wings. The “Bone” entered USAF service in 1986, with 100 aircraft rolling off the production line up till the final one in 1988. Dragon Warbirds’ newest 1/400 scale die-cast model is equally impressive. It’s finished in the markings of the 28th Bomb Wing (28 BW), a formation based at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. 28 BW is one of only two B-1B strategic bomber wings in the USAF, the other being 7 BW.
