  1. Herpa 400 Western Pacific 737-300 'Spirit of Durango" N946WPReview by James F
    Customer Rating

Western Pacific was a short based airline from the 1990s based out of Colorado Springs. There original colors were a creamy white color with the WP on the tail. Then, before they folded they created billboard advertising for various Colorado attractions on their aircraft. This one is the Spirit of Durango on the port side and the Purgatory Resort on the other side of the aircraft.

The aircraft first flew for Boeing March 10, 1985 and then was used by CP Air, VASP, GPA Group, Markair before being leased by WP July, 1995 and on to Southwest Airlines in 1998.

Herpa has done a great job in reproducing this replica. The colors are spot on. When you look at the model you see how complicated the paint job is but it has been well captured in this model.

Nose, cockpit shape and cockpit windows are correct. The passenger windows stand out nicely on the blue back drop of the fuselage. The passenger doors and cargo bay doors also look good. The landing gear lack a lot of detail but are properly scaled. The fleet number is on the nose gear cover.

This model is a little pricey as most Herpa models are but worth it to capture another member of the WP fleet in my collection. I have three models of WP.
