AeroClassics is a line of diecast aircraft models in 1/400 scale to complement with other manufacturers products. One of AeroClassics goals is to provide the scale aircraft collecting community, classic propliners and jetliners which would otherwise never be produced.
Aer Lingus Group plc is the national flag carrier airline of Ireland. It operates a fleet of mostly Airbus aircraft serving Europe, North Africa, Turkey and North America. It is Ireland's oldest extant airline, and its second largest, after low-cost rival Ryanair. The airline's head office is located on the grounds of Dublin Airport in Swords, Dublin, Ireland. It is ranked as one of the safest airlines in the world.
The Boeing 720 was a four-engine narrow-body short- to medium-range passenger jet airliner. Developed by Boeing in the late 1950s from the Boeing 707, the 720 has a shorter fuselage and less range. The 720 first flew in November 1959 and the model entered service with launch customer United Airlines in July 1960.

The newest addition is the Irish 720, named St. Patrick. Aer Lingus had 7 of the 150 aircraft made.
The aircraft first flew under the Boeing label Oct. 10. 1960. It was delivered to Aer Lingus Oct. 25, 1960. It was leased to Braniff for a short while and then came back to Aer Lingus. It was later operated by El Al and later several other airlines used the air frame. It survived till being broken up in Nov. 23, 1983
This mould is wonderful and full of the kind of details I like to see in a model.
On top of the fuselage there is a scaled antenna painted in Irish green. On the tail the Aer Lingus shamrock and green and while stripes are properly placed and the colors correct. The nose shape and cockpit windows look great. Wind shield wipers are painted on just below the windows.
Some images of this aircraft have the Irish flag on the fuselage behind the nose but the model does not. It has it on the fuselage behind the Irish International Air Lingus label.
The passenger doors and windows are clearly marked using gray windows on the Air Lingus green cheat line.
My wife is Irish so really this is "her" model. She now has every Air Lingus in 200 and 400 scale that has been made. If she knew what she had she would be proud and bragging. (Posted on 9/3/2015)
