This model is in the Lightning Bolt livery and how appropriate on one of the first jets of American Airlines. The model is part of an group of 11 models made by Aeroclassics as a short run of only 24 copies of each. It is a mix of classic props and jets and best of all for fleet collectors all of the registration numbers are ones not previously made. The colors line up properly on the model with the passenger windows above the lightning bolt. Cockpit lines up properly and the landing gear is properly scaled. There were no pix on A-net of this aircraft but pix of other 990s mention how smoky they were on take off in the early years of the jet age. (Posted on 11/27/2010)
