Hogan 200 American Airlines DC-3-277B NC21798 Flagship Knoxville (cn 2202)
I am glad to see Hogan dust off there DC-3 mould. It has been around for years but they have only released a few models on it. NC21798, the Flagship Knoxville is on display permanently at the American Airlines museum near Fort Worth, TX. There are a huge number of images on A-net of this aircraft so it is easy to compare the real airframe with the model. There is much detail on the engines. The R1820 radial engines although it might have been better to paint the engines interior in a dark color. No biggie. The engine shape is great and the props also have good shape and details. Would have liked Hogan to have included the antenna aft of the cockpit but this detail is not on the Hogan model. Flagship Knoxville flew for AA from 1940 to 1948. It flew at one point as a mosquito control aircraft in South Carolina. Cockpit and nose shape is good although I think maybe the windows could have been painted black to stand out more then the dark gray used. Some thing for the passenger windows. I love DC-3s!
