Phoenix 400 Boeing Aircraft Company 7478JK N6067E "Ground Wing"
Phoenix models has taken 400 scale modeltry to a new level with this mould. First of all this model comes out only a few months after the prototype Boeing N6067E flew from Boeing Field March 20, 2011. There are two version of this model made by Phoenix. This is the ground version which has flatter wings than the in-flight version. The thing that amazes me is that I think this is the first time I have seen antennas on a 400 scale model. Among many other details, there are scaled rolling landing gear, the fleet number printed on the nose gear cover., the landing lights and warning lights, proper shape of these new, big engines, cargo bay doors, passenger windows and doors, all sharply printed. Now I have to say. I looked at my model for quite a few days before writing this review. Something was bugging me. It was the nose gear. On my copy it is mounted backwards. There is no question about this when you look at this selection from Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Boeing/Boeing-747-8JK/1886154/L/&sid=7f267764e53d5061a88870422badc0ec It is fixable but I am too much of a klutz to try it and I will not let that stop me from giving this model 5 stars. I go further and say, that this is the best of the B747-8JK moulds so far. I found it interesting that Boeing has used the registration number N6067E on several other previous types of aircraft for roll out or early flights. Review by James F (Posted on 12/7/2011)
