Aeroclassic 400 Braniff "Flying Colors" DC-8-51 2-tone Green N811BN (cn 45634/161)
Here is the only picture on A-net of this aircraft: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Braniff-International-Airways/Douglas-DC-8-51/1530917/L/&sid=aafbc03d83faab59a63742c12387142f The color match on the model is spot on. My only complaint is the seam were the wing meets the fuselage--it is pretty large gap but not at all a deal breaker on this model. The air craft was built in 1962 and came to National Airlines Feb. 23, 1962 before going over to Braniff Oct. 24, 1973 and registered Nov. 7, 1973. It was painted in the flying colors Green/Light Green. The aircraft was broken up in Miami January, 1983 after retiring from BN. The color match is perfect. The cockpit shape and cockpit windows, the nose shape, the nose gear with the fleet number on the nose gear covers, the shape and scale of the main landing gear the engine shape and a multitude of other details make this a great addition for me in my BN family of 400 scale models. Glad we have the Flying Colors now in the DC-8 Aeroclassics mould. Review by James F (Posted on 8/15/2011)
