Hobby Master 200 Braniff International Airways Douglas DC-7C, N5906 (cn 45074/810)
We waited many months for this model. I enjoy the old Braniff colors from the prop era. This beautiful DC-7 joins my other DC-7 from the old Western Models and a L-749 in the same old colors of the 50s and early 60s before the jets took over. I really like this model BUT...like many of the HM models, their 4s, 6s and other 7s the nose gear cover doesn't fit properly and appears detached from the fuselage below the cockpit. This is my only complaint about this model. There are two images of this aircraft in the El Dorado colors of early Braniff Airways at A-net:

The model features non-rollng landing gear. On the hub caps you can see the lug nuts. The nose gear has the proper tilt of a DC-7. The passenger windows and doors look great on this model. The colors are matched well with the El Dorado colors of the era. The aircraft was delivered in 1957 and flew through 1970 for Braniff. This is a beautiful piece of history in spite of the draw backs on the nose gear.
