Aeroclassic 400 Continental Viscount 812 O/C N254V
These colors are referred to as old colors but to me they are the prelude of the Golden Jet era which was just getting underway in the 50s and 60s. The air frame was built in 1959 and first flew April 2, 1959. It was delivered to Continental later in April, 1959 through mid-1966 and was taken over by Channel Airlines and registered G-ATVE and was eventually broken up June, 1972. I think the model's nose is a little short, however the cockpit shape is well captured. The golden tail is the start of a short era of the Golden Jet colors Continental used. Landing gear details and fleet number on the nose gear covers further makes this a great replica to add to my collection of props and early Continental jets. One negative thing on this model is the gap in the seam between the fuselage the the wing. Maybe this could be addressed in future Viscount releases. Review by James F (Posted on 8/11/2011)
