This 880 features the Royal Crown on the tail and on the front of the fuselage. This is the livery that preceded the Wiget livery.
The aircraft was delivered to Delta Dec. 13, 1960. It was sold to Boeing in 1973. It also flew for Profit Airlines before being broken up Dec., 1984.
GJ has captured the essence of this aircraft quite well. The polished metal is so shinny on the wings you can see your reflection in it.
The white fuselage is a wonderful canvas for placing the Delta colors. The Royal Crown and Delta markings on the tail are spot on. The fleet number appears at the top of tail (801). The model features warning lights on top and bottom of the model, landing lights on the wings and the warning lights at the end of the wings.
Cargo bay doors, passenger winds and passenger doors are clearly printed. The American Flag at the rear of the aircraft is place properly and the registration number is just below it as on the original aircraft.
The scaled landing gear features rolling rubber tires The nose, cockpit and cockpit windows are properly place and colored.
Being a lover of the old planes this is a perfect addition to my Delta collection which has more than 75 200 scale models.
