DL1086 slid off runway 13 at LGA at 11:10am during the snow storm it went out of control and crashed into a fence. None of the 130 aboard were killed but there were variety of injuries.
The model registration was no doubt picked by GJ before the March 5 incident.
This mould is superb. The current Delta colors re displayed on this white back drop of a fuselage. The bottom of the model in the Delta blue displays the Delta with logos as they have done to their aircraft in recent times. I would love to be under one when it passes overhead to the airport. You would have to be pretty close to read it!
On the fuselage there are multiple scaled antennas on top and bottom of the model. Fuselage warning lights are three dimensional You can feel them on the model.
The nose shape is spot on as are the cockpit windows. GJ used a dark color for them on the model and they look great. Wind shield wipers are also visible.
The tail shape is perfect and the Delta colors displayed in a perfect color match. Red and green wing warning lights are another detail for this model. The wings themselves are properly shaped and also have the emergency egress arrows on them
The dark colored passenger windows are set the proper distance above the wings. The passenger doors have the handles marked and other unreadable small type. I like that kind of future even though it is too small for me to read it.
The engines are properly shaped and scaled. The landing gear futures rolling tires. Cargo bay doors are marked clearly on the white back drop.
This is another very nice addition to the huge number of Delta Airlines colors in 200 scale.
