Built in 1953 for the USAF as a C-118A it was registered with Northern Air Cargo Nov. 6, 1989. It was withdrawn from service after 2004.
The colors are applied to a good DC-6 mould of GJ. The cockpit shape, cockpit windows and nose shape come close to the real aircraft when looking at the numerous images on A-net. The large cargo door is painted on the model both behind the cockpit and the aft portion of the aircraft.
The simple colors of NAC look good on a white fuselage, the engines match with the pictures and the landing gear look scaled and proper. The nose gear cover has the fleet number on it.
