Inflight 200 Northwest Airlines DC-9-51 N773NC (cn 47775/888) "Polished"
This air frame has been around for a long time and is now flying for Delta Airlines in their latest colors. At one point the aircraft flew with North Central Airlines and Republic Airlines before merging in with Northwest. Our version in this model features a polished belly. It is so shinny you can see your reflection. After the polished belly colors the plane went on to fly in the battleship gray and red colors of NWA , then the final NWA colors and then took on the current Delta colors after the merger. The aircraft was built in 1978. It started its long career with North Central Airlines after a first flight September 19, 1978 and was delivered to North Central October 26, 1978. There are several pages of pictures on Airliners. net of this aircraft. Inflight did "ok" on the nose of the model. Maybe it could be just a little more pointy. Cockpit windows are shaped correctly. There are antennas that add to the detail of the model. The colors are reproduced correctly and the scaled landing gear and tires look correct compared to pictures on A-net.
