Western Models Reeve Aleutian Airways Boeing 727-22C N832RV Final Colors (cn 19098/318)
Looking at this picture from Airliners.net says many things: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Reeve-Aleutian-Airways/Boeing-727-22C/0163860/L/&sid=d0e4c15733a1c11d2b15d57efb1b9c5a This was an airline that flew to rugged places, dirt runways, high fuel prices, hard to maintenance locations for Alaska. When you see and feel the model you will know why I like this one. These final colors of Reeves using a red, white and blue on a white background complement the new Western Model B721 mould. This aircraft and the model are configured for cargo and passenger operations with a large cargo door on the model. Landing lights and warning lights are on the wings and fuselage of the model. The wings meet the fuselage with a little bit too much seam but it is still acceptable. WM could have added a couple of antennas and the tail guard as seen on other moulds. Landing gear is scaled, rolls and the nose gear covers also have the fleet number printed on them The passenger windows and doors are crisply printed. The cockpit and its windows are well shaped though the nose could be a tad longer. This aircraft first went to work for United Airlines carrying the Saul Bass colors N741OU in Sept., 1966. Two months later it was part of Wien Airlines, another Alaska based carrier. The aircraft was part of Reeve Aleutian N832RV till being sold Dec., 1983 and later flew for the UN in early 2007 as an all white plane. Review by James F (Posted on 8/10/2011)
