Wow! Polished metal model in 200 scale with all sorts of great details!
This beautiful Coronado was delivered to Alaska Airlines May, 1967. It had originally been delivered to Varig as PP-VJE. It was leased to AERA April, 1968 and was later associated with Modern Air. It was written off after a short landing August 8, 1970.
We now have this model in Golden Nugget colors. It joins the B727-100, C-130 and the Connie and soon the 880 will be arriving.
There only three pix of this aircraft on Airliners.net. To me, the nose is not as pointed as it is in the images. But the cockpit shape and windows are good.
PAX windows and doors are clearly marked and printed crisply. The Golden Nugget on the tail and below the cockpit are sized perfectly. The model has warning lights on the top and bottom of the model and on the wing tips. Landing gear is shaped correctly. Cargo bay doors are marked and there is an antenna on the underside of the fuselage.
This was an aircraft that was in competition with the B707 for airline purchases.
It is a gloresou addition to my Golden Nugget collection!
