- Aeroclassics Capital Airlines Viscount 700 N7403
-
Capitol was the first US carrier to use the Viscount. They had purchased more than 40 of them and eventually brought them over to United Airlines in a 1961 merger. Timing for this prop job in a US domestic carrier was not good for longevity as the jet age had already been underway for several years. This is a tiny little model in 400 scale, maybe an inch and a quarter long. On it, though the details are tremendous with sharp window outlines and the oval passenger doors.
There is one cargo bay door on the right side of the fuselage. Cockpit windows are placed properly. This model matches up nicely with the Aeroclassic Capital Connie. (Posted on 8/31/2010)
