If you are interested in having a "DC6 in TEAL colours" sitting in your collection, then this is great. Using the up to date more accurate moldings.
However the casting used is of the "stretched" DC6B, the preferred choice of airlines of the era. TEAL's aircraft were the inherited fleet of BCPA which were orignally designated to SAS from a surplus USAF order...Phew! Further more they were the straight "short body" DC6 or later referred to DC6A and fitted as DSTs (Douglas Sleeper Transport).
Apart from the shorter body another spotting feature of the TEAL DC6s were the prominent radar fairings located underside the forward fuselage, port side. A testament to their USAF origins.
Yes I'm being fussy, but hey, the average cost to have these shipped to the other side of the world needs to be justified. And yes Aeroclassics are not going to create a mold for a one-off series. Still if you want a representative of TEALs first landplane, here you go...would've been nice to see one of the earlier liveries before what is now shown in TEALs final colours.
