N28724 made its first flight Feb. 2, 1968. I was just short of my 18th birthday. My day worked at Kennedy Space Center for TWA which had a contract there to do various jobs for space support. The plane was delivered to TWA Feb. 16, 1968 and flew for TW till it was returned to Citicorp May, 1983. The plane was still flying as late as 1996 and flew for a half dozen other airlines in the second half of its life. The IF B707-300 mould has many great details. There are only three pix of this TW bird on Airliners,net. The model features rolling scaled landing gear, well shaped engines, gosh they were so tiny compared to today's jets. The cockpit is properly shaped. There are warning lights on the wings and fuselage, emergency egress arrows over the wings, several antennas. Even though there is a seam were the wings meet the fuselage, the paint covers it well. This is a "solid" title version and the last colors of TW's 707s. I never really understood why TWA had solid and hollow titles. (Posted on 12/7/2011)
