Inflight200 Western Airlines Londoner DC-10-30 N821L
This Inflight DC-10 it up in the top two for its beauty. The first is the Northwest Airlines Gray and Red DC-10 issued by IF. I love both of these models. This aircraft was known as the Londoner when flying in the white flying red W colors. This one you can't help but fall in love with the white paint background and then the red and Black colors of Western Airlines before being absorbed and disappearing into the merger with Delta in the early 70s. This was the last colors of Western. The merger allowed Delta to truly become a 'national" airlines. The aircraft itself actually flew for a half dozen airlines in its life, including a stink with American. Starting with the tires, hub caps and their lug nuts the landing gear is scaled and features details that make you want to look close at the entire model. I can not see a seam were the wing meets the fuselage. The engines are of proper scale and carry the GE logo. The American flag is displayed to the left of the rear door, the registration number under the flag is clearly depicted. The passenger winds and passenger doors print beautifully on the white backdrop. There are several antennas above and below the fuselage. Cargo bay doors stand out on the white background. I have mine displayed with the other two white on red flying W's the IF B727-200 and the IF B737-200. Review by James F (Posted on 12/7/2011)
