In 1997 Dragon Models Ltd. or “Dragon” diversified into the model field, manufacturing airliner models for promotional use and for collectors. This resulted in the Dragon Wings line of 1:400 scale aircraft models, and has since become one of DML's most successful series. Since its introduction Dragon Wings has manufactured over 100 unique commercial and national airline liveries. Dragon Wings is recognized as the officially appointed supplier of promotional and souvenir aircraft models for Airbus and Boeing. Dragon's success in its Dragon Wings line eventually led it to introducing a new 1:72 scale line of aircraft models in 2002 labeled Warbirds. The Warbirds series focus ranges from the World War II fighters and bombers to modern day jet fighters.
