Aeroclassic 400 Braniff "Flying Colors" DC-8-51 2-tone Red & Orange N812BN (cn 45635/163)
N812BN / fleet number 812 (cn 45635/163) Ex National N875C, became HK-2587X after Braniff retired it. Seen parked in the hangar area between flights, from A-net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Braniff-International-Airways/Douglas-DC-8-51/0825922/L/&sid=2cca36d8a6e3fbc192cb5d31c9e0157a The aircraft was built in 1962 and was delivered to National Airlines N875C April 6, 1962. It later was picked up by Braniff. Braniff retired the aircraft Feb. 1980 and stored it till it was picked up by Gutierrez Hernando, Miami Springs FL April 16, 1980. Later that year it was converted to a freighter. The model is very good except for a seam on the wing were it attaches to the fuselage but every thing else is near perfect with the color match being correct, the scaled landing gear, cargo bay doors, passenger windows and doors, a perfectly shaped cock pit all making for a very nice model to bring to the Braniff family of 400 scale models.
