Aeroclassic 400 Continental Viscount 812 Delivery Colors N241V (c/n 355)
This unit represents the delivery colors of Continental for this Viscount 812. This is a model that is why I love this hobby so much. The model represents the hay-day of prop aviation. Built in 1958 N241V made its first flight April, 1, 1958 and was delivered to Continental May 10, 1958. It later flew for Ansett Airlines Sept., 1960-August, 1969 and went on with two other carriers before ending its Jan., 1983, eventually being broken up. Here is a nice detail of the front of the aircraft: http://www.prop-liners.com/N241vViscount800.htm The model's nose may be a bit short but other details on this model like the nose gear and its covers add to the model. You can see the fleet number on the nose gear covers. The oval shaped passenger windows are sharply printed as are the passenger doors. This link will take you to more great pictures and history of this air frame. Engine shape is correct. Were the seam meets the fuselage it is a little gaped but tolerable on a model this size. I am glad to add another propliner to my collection of early Continental models. Review by James F (Posted on 8/11/2011)
