This air frame was built in 1979, took its first flight Oct. 23, 1979. It flew for Eastern Airlines through Jan. 18, 1991 when Eastern Airlines folded and was acquired by Delta Sept. 3, 1991. The aircraft was eventually retired and broken up. Our example here has a polished belly. This is very shinny and you can see your reflection in the shine. I like the landing gear as it matches up scale and detail with the actual aircraft images on A-net. There are pictures of this aircraft showing it in the blue gray colors of Eastern, the Delta interim colors and the widget colors which is featured on this model. Antennas, warning light and landing lights add to the detail of this model. The passenger doors and windows are sharply printed, the engine and nose shape is correct. The fin number is on the tail and on the nose wheel covers. (Posted on 7/25/2011)
